Bakery counter

This was meant to be the bonus video for last week, but life happened and I was unable to post it until now - so with a slight delay, the bakery counter is up as a video :)
To keep the video from being too long, while stilling including a couple of accessories for the 'bakery theme' I chose to include some simple shelves and a blackboard/chalkboard.

I am planning on making this a permanent scene that I can use when taking pictures of miniature food - Not with the garden table, and not the wallpaper either, that was just for the sake of this photo :)

Country style bakery counter

I've been wanting to make a vintage, country style bakery counter for a while, and I even started carving the 'little bakery' detailing a few weeks back. I had ordered a tool to make the trim at the bottom (on which the 2 posts are resting), but due to a delay, it didn't arrive until last week. I could have used one of the pre-made trims I have, or even used my handheld electric file,. But seeing as I'd already made the order, I was determined to do it the way I'd initially planned.

The video is going to be posted on 'SugarCharmShop Gourmet' as a bonus video. Not this upcoming week - haven't decided exactly when it'll be up. I still need to finish some more pieces for the video anyway and the video in itself is somewhat of an experiment;
Since I don't post non-food videos too often on that channel, I wanted to try something a bit different. I'm going to finish a couple of additional pieces to go with the counter (small stuff like shelves) and then put everything into 1 video, which I'm guessing is going to be somewhere around the 20-30 minute mark - will try to keep it closer to 20. I know a lot of people find that to be too long, but I do think it makes a lot of sense to do it this way.
And don't worry - I'm not going to pack as much as possible into the video! I just want to make it more of a 'complete scene' rather than an empty counter on its own.

For those of you who watch the videos on my new channel, I just want to say thank you. I know the channel is still small, and it's too soon to make plans - heck, it's still only going through the second half of the trial period. But know that your support means the world to me. Every time you watch one of the videos I post on there, you're enabling me to set aside more time for these projects. I hope that the channel will some day reach a level that would enable me to post 2 times a week - I've received so many scrumptious requests for different types of food and have lots of ideas myself as well.

Garden Table

So,. I wanted to make a vintage, garden type furniture, heavily patinaed table that I can use for photos. I really want to make a small scene/background to match it as well, so hopefully I can get that done soon.
But basically - I want to, and have been wanting to make some flowers, potted plants and a few other projects like that for quite a while and instead of just having them on a plain background, I wanted to be able to 'pose' them properly.

The tutorial for this table will be up on 'SugarCharmShop Gourmet' and this is where the channel might be a bit confusing - if you haven't read the original blog post which goes through all of that, I do recommend reading it; Click to read.

The design of this table, other than the engraved details, is kept pretty simple and is easy to make if you have the supplies. The patina in itself, and also the pattern on the table top adds so much detail that I didn't see a need to dress up the rest of the table with tons of swirls and additional details.

Console table, bookcase & buterched pig

Here are the console table and bookcase I mentioned in my last post :) Had a lot of fun making them!

And,. something that's not quite furniture - a butchered pig. Now,. I've made a butchered pig twice before in 2013 and there's no doubt that this one looks better. I recall getting an email the last time I showed one of my butchered pigs, from someone who was having a very strong reaction to the fact that I had made something like that. Lots of negativity in that email, but I wanted to let you know, just in case you feel the same way; don't waste your time sending me an email or yelling at me because I take it as a huge compliment. I think it's AWESOME if my little lump of clay can cause people to react that way.
This is a pig for a butcher's shop/scene - this is how you get meat on your plate. It's simply realism.

Salmon steaks & Toy chests

I cannot believe that there is less than 2 weeks left before the fair!! where did the time go?! - These are a couple of my recent creations; Salmon steaks and toy chests.
Have been working on a couple of other pieces of furniture that I'll hopefully be able to post pictures of tomorrow or Wednesday. I made a console table and am currently making a bookshelf/cupboard type unit. Will have to sit down and plan out the last few days because there's no way I can make all the things I want in time...
My Paragon kiln I ordered arrived last week, but I can't actually test it out until I get the land lord to put in some other fuses hihi - the ones that are installed in the apartment do not have the required kapacity,. But he promised to help :) Really should get it tested out soon though, to make sure it works the way it's supposed to - otherwise I'll have to contact the website. That's the only thing I hate about ordering larger items from over seas.

Banana bread, Romantic chair & pots/pans

A couple of my recent creations - The banana bread and the pots/pans has already been uploaded as tutorials on my YouTube channel :) Tutorial for the chair will be up at some point - though I'm not sure when.

5 weeks left before I'll be leaving for the Farum fair. I'm excited to see what people think of my new items. This is the first time I'll be bringing some proper animals (have previously only had 1 dog and a bunny to sell...), I'll for once have an OK selection of dolls, I'm bringing mixed kitchen appliances + other mixed minis AND, not to forget - furniture.
Crossing my fingers it'll go well.

Furniture

How long has it been since I last made an update?..  too long for me to recap all the items I've made and posted on my youtube channel haha.
But ehh, - amongst other stuff I made vegetables;

I also, finally, got around to playing with my scroll saw for the first time, which I've had for... 2 years?

Started making some furniture - and even though it's nowhere near perfect, I think it looks cute! - the chair was the first piece of furniture I made,. the blue dresser was the second,. the cupboard the third and the table may have been my 4th or 5th? not quite sure.
I've made a couple of dining chairs as well, but I still need to make the table before posting a picture. Also working on a roll top desk. Think I've accomplished quite a bit in just over a week! (Started making the first chair this past Tuesday).

Can you tell I've been playing around with my patina? hihi

Aaaaaand - I got a new toy today! a lathe! a micro version by proxxon... only problem is that I don't really have a lot of.. or any, wood I can turn,. so I'll have to get my hands on some soon haha.
